The Original Sea Cave Kayak Tour (90 Minutes in Length) offers unforgettable guided tours through the La Jolla Ecological Reserve. Each tour is lead by experienced guide(s) who ensure participants safely navigate through the unique ecological habitats while seeing different types of marine life.

This highly-protected and unique area boasts one of the highest concentrations of sea-life in the West Coast. Guests commonly encounter seals, sea lions, and a multitude of birds and fish, and lucky guests might even see dolphins or whales!

Towards the southern end of the Ecological Reserve, La Jolla's Seven Sea Caves patiently await, allowing participants to witness their beauty. Weather permitting, participants can kayak through the large sea cave that goes from the ocean into the Emerald Cove.
Entry into the Emerald Cave depends on the safety, and is not guaranteed. Participants must be five years or older to participate in the tour.

Valid for up to two people to ride in a double kayak.

We loved our trip! It was a lot of kayaking though....it was very cool and an amazing experience. I would recommend bringing a change of clothes...we did not and were soaked the rest of the car ride....that was our fault. It was a $5.00 locker rental, and I'd recommend you use that.

KJ was a great guide! We saw dolphins, leopard sharks, and sea lions. The cove is beautiful and the experience was excellent. Highly recommend!!

we had Joe as a guide and he was great, very. knowledgable about the environment, history and the caves. My reservations were mixed up but they made sure we got to go at the right time and personally brought down to the group. The caves were too dangerous.. so we didn’t get to go in but we were out there for 2 hours. We’ll worth it.. a great workout too bring a towel. wear your bathing suit
