Overview

The Original Sea Cave Kayak Tour (90 Minutes in Length) offers unforgettable guided tours through the La Jolla Ecological Reserve. Each tour is lead by experienced guide(s) who ensure participants safely navigate through the unique ecological habitats while seeing different types of marine life.

This highly-protected and unique area boasts one of the highest concentrations of sea-life in the West Coast. Guests commonly encounter seals, sea lions, and a multitude of birds and fish, and lucky guests might even see dolphins or whales!

Towards the southern end of the Ecological Reserve, La Jolla's Seven Sea Caves patiently await, allowing participants to witness their beauty. Weather permitting, participants can kayak through the large sea cave that goes from the ocean into the Emerald Cove.
Entry into the Emerald Cave depends on the safety, and is not guaranteed. Participants must be five years or older to participate in the tour.

Valid for up to two people to ride in a double kayak.

Kayaking on the ocean was great. My wife and I both had a lot fun and the weather was perfect. However, we thought we’d go inside the caves — that was not the case. When you combine “Sea Cave Tour” with a photo of a kayak entering a cave, you expect that to happen during the tour, right?

Mother nature is constantly moving and changing so we won't be 100% certain about accessing the sea cave. Everyday California and our highly trained tour guides work very close with the San Diego Lifeguards to ensure the safety of all our guests, including you and your family and friends. The picture is misleading. We can’t enter the cave because of “safety reasons”, not even close to the cave. Why don’t tell me this at the first place? I would definitely cancel it. I was there not for just one hour kayaking, I was there for the cave!

We try our best to let everyone know that because we are kayaking in the Pacific Ocean, an uncontrolled environment, that entering the sea cave is never guaranteed. Kayaking in the ocean around wild life and sea caves is one of our passions, but keeping you and your friends/family safe is our number one priority. I heard you guys got to see dolphins and sea lions on your trip - so cool!
