Original La Jolla Sea Cave Kayak Tour for Two

Overview
The Original Sea Cave Kayak Tour (90 Minutes in Length) offers unforgettable guided tours through the La Jolla Ecological Reserve. Each tour is lead by experienced guide(s) who ensure participants safely navigate through the unique ecological habitats while seeing different types of marine life.

This highly-protected and unique area boasts one of the highest concentrations of sea-life in the West Coast. Guests commonly encounter seals, sea lions, and a multitude of birds and fish, and lucky guests might even see dolphins or whales!

Towards the southern end of the Ecological Reserve, La Jolla's Seven Sea Caves patiently await, allowing participants to witness their beauty. Weather permitting, participants can kayak through the large sea cave that goes from the ocean into the Emerald Cove.
Entry into the Emerald Cave depends on the safety, and is not guaranteed. Participants must be five years or older to participate in the tour.

Valid for up to two people to ride in a double kayak.

Our family of 5 (two adults and children ages: 13, 9 and 6) all had a blast! Our tour guides Josh and Al were great! We paddled out to the caves and saw a lot of wildlife along the way. Our tour guides were very knowledgeable about the area and even gave us some cool history. I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone.

Our guide Julie was fantastic! She shared lots of interesting info with us, and catered to our wishes while on the outing. Our kids have a fantastic time as well. Highly recommend!

We went for the Kayak Tour in a group of 5. One of us was paired with a stranger who didn't paddle, so be aware and try to go in even numbers. We went out on a windy and choppy day. Be prepared to get WET! You paddle out in ocean sit on top kayaks through the breaking waves. The person in front gets soaked, which in my opinion was FUN! The company provides wetsuits ($10), life vests and helmets (free) to wear out. We didn't get the wetsuits and felt fine. The lifeguards had their flag up, so we couldn't go into the caves, but we did see sea lions, white sided dolphins and bottlenose dolphins. It was fun to learn about the area and see the wildlife, even without the cave experience. Be aware that your guide (ours was Abby, and she was great!) can't control the weather, waves or lifeguards, so they can't promise an experience in the caves themselves. She got us as close as safely possible and it was still awesome.

LDLovestheBeach, We are stoked you guys came out with us and were able to see all the sea life. We are truly lucky to be able to operate down here, we've heard there's more sea life per capita in La Jolla then anywhere else in CA! Also, we appreciate your understanding about entering the caves. Our main goal is to keep you guys safe and show you the beauty that La Jolla Shores has to offer. We hope to see you guys again!
