Out of Africa Wildlife Park Admission Ticket

Overview
Come see animals up close in large spacious habitats. Out of Africa Wildlife Park strives to educate and entertain, to provide an exciting and engaging opportunity to love and respect creation and creator. It is a place where family and friends gather to experience oneness with animals and each other during safaris, tours, walks, observations, and shows of wild-by-nature animals in their own, natural splendor. In this way, we hope to achieve a kind of oneness with them that will cause us to consider them to be so valuable that we cannot allow them to be lost forever. We continually provide spacious and natural living habitats for animals in need, so they can become ambassadors of their own kind. We have heeded the call of those without a voice, many of whom now border on extinction.

My 9 year old daughter and I spent the day at Out of Africa park, being the only animal lovers in my family. I was impressed with the fact that the large majority of these animals have been rescued from other parks or "attractions" and placed in the large, open exhibits at this park. We took the "bus" tour of a portion of the park where we were able to feed a giraffe and get up close with lots of other hoofed and large-winged birds (like ostrich). The staff member operating the tour was also a keeper and had a wealth of knowledge which she shared with us during the ride. Because the exhibits are rather large and have a lot of shady trees - it was difficult to see a lot of the animals - but it was understandable given that it was July, and 109 degrees that day. We had a blast during the tiger show and appreciated the shaded seating area. Be mindful that this is a large park with a lot of "dusty" walking with very little - to no - shade. If it is hot, be prepared to sit often, drink tons of water, and eat a lot of shredded ice! Fortunately, there is a shuttle that drives around the park and drops off at several points - but it can have a wait time of 20 minutes or more. We did purchase the sloth experience - which was really fun and though may not have been worth the money - was worth the smile on my daughter's face. The keeper attending the sloth experience gave us extra time as we were the last on the schedule and she was great at providing info about the sloth, as well as many other animals at the park. The best part - we went during the month of my daughter's birthday and she got free admission, and an Out of Africa Wildlife Park bracelet! Definitely take a trip to this park if you're considering it. Totally worth the price - which isn't nearly as expensive as other zoos.

Even though I am conflicted about zoos in general, many of these animals have been mostly saved from another park or attraction where they were mistreated or being sent to slaughter. So, based on that fact, I'm glad they’re here, saving these gorgeous creatures and providing them with a really nice habitat to live, well cared for by the tremendous staff. You'll get up close to the lions (mostly female), a Bengal tiger, zebras, hyenas, water buffalo, and many more species of animals. You'll even have an opportunity to feed a giraffe, right from your open-air tour bus, and much much more. It was a really neat experience and the staff love answering questions. They also have three or four demonstrations/shows to take in while your here. If it is your birthday month, you’ll get a discount. Plenty of shade and concessions, BUT, there is walking involved, even though they go out of their way to provide shuttle service to and from the various areas of this very large park. Arrive early before it gets hot and the animals seek shade. Bring plenty of water for yourself.

The out of Africa Wildlife Park is located in Cottonwood, AZ, NOT Flagstaff, AZ. We actually got very close to the animals. I was chosen to hold a huge python snake. What an experience. Watching the Tigers splash in the big pool after food was great to see. Take the bus tour through the park. It is well worth it!
