Tramway cars hold 80 people each and there are no seats. Passengers remain standing throughout the journey up the mountain
Distance is approximately 12,800 feet, with a vertical ascent of 5,873 feet - 15 minutes travel time one way
The tramway is known as a double reversible type of aerial tramway. Each car remains on one pair of track cables moving up and down without turning around. Each car serves as a counter balance to the other, the descending car is helping pull the ascending car up the mountain
Strollers are permitted on this tour
During holiday periods, you may experience long lines. We recommend you travel outside of these peak times to fully enjoy everything the tramway and mountain have to offer.
There is parking in 13 paved lots near Valley Station. There is free shuttle service from parking lots to Valley Station entrance available weekends and holiday periods

Get here early. I read reviews and it was suggested to get here by 9:30am. I'm happy I listened, so I'm spreading the word also. If you love nature and mountains, this is a great place to explore. BEWARE... a lot of uphill walking in the parking lot if the bus is running yet. The aerial tram was a very fun and interesting ride up the 8,500 sq.ft. once at the top, it is just beautiful all around. Specially if the clouds aren't out and thick. There are a lot of hiking trails, but remember, that big trail you walk DOWN to get to the trails is the same trail you take to get back UP. I've been to this place 3 times in the past 30yrs. The natural beauty never disappoints.

A Day well spent and worth the $$, although Senior tickets can be bought at The Window inside the building for a few $$'s less.
