Punchbowl Crater is an extinct volcanic tuff cone located in Honolulu, It serves as a memorial to honor those men and women who served in the United States Armed Forces, and those who have given their lives in doing so.

Downtown Honolulu

Honolulu is home to some of Oahu’s most historic places. Next to the skyscrapers of the island main business district you will find important landmarks like the Iolani Palace, King Kamehameha statue, the Kawaiahao Church and the Aloha Tower. This area is also the seat of Hawaii’s government, home to the Hawaii State Capitol, Washington Place and Honolulu Hale.

Our guide, Eugene, was very courteous and knowledgeable. The memorial was top notch. The most impressive was the drops of oil that would slowly seal to the top. It let you know that life was still rising to the top after all these years.

The Pearl Harbor Memorial. It was very touching. I recommend going on this tour. An added plus is the sense of humor of the tour guide.

Because tour guides are not allowed to accompany visitors on the Arizona Memorial or on the Missouri, the Pearl Harbor tour is really just a ride to the Visitors Center with some chatting on the way. No additional knowledge about the site itself. We were happy to pay to guarantee entry into the sights, but if you can get free tickets through NPS, this tour doesn’t really add much.
