Overview

The 2018 eruption wreaked havoc upon the subdivision of Leilani Estates. While there is currently no active surface lava on the island, the destruction is still evident here. You will hear first-hand accounts from real homeowners and see Fissure 8, the largest fissure from the eruption. We have exclusive access to visit 4 different properties destroyed in the eruption. A portion of our sales goes to those who tragically lost their homes.

The departure point provided was incorrect requiring us to contact the tour company and meet in a parking lot.

Directives on where to meet the tour were unclear, and I tried about 4 times to contact the tour operator to no avail. We show up at the site where supposedly we’re going to get picked up, but it was deserted, with a local saying there hadn’t been tour meetups at that location since the pandemic started. The whole thing was a scam, but at least requesting and having my refund issued were easy.

Wife and I toured the Volcano NP with great views of Kilauea crater, the Volcano House, and up close views of steam vents. Included were visits into several nearby neighborhoods that experienced devastation during the most recent eruption in 2018. Almost too much to comprehend. Houses destroyed and roads buried. This is a must see, as the tour takes you to places that were broadcast on national TV.
