We purchased a City pass for 2 days at a great discount which meant this bus was included in the offer, therefore getting huge reductions not only for it but for places we went to later on and the following day. Sometimes Groupon has further reductions on the City pass, so you might want to check that:
1 We took the bus from the starting point near the Independence hall visitors centre (where from we took our free tickets to visit Independence hall and the other buildings there at 4pm that day, as it was only the time they had available). Thus we were able to sit at the front of the bus, being protected by their glass as it was rather windy and rainy.
2. The bus took us as shown on their map all the way to Philadelphia Museum of Art, Eastern State Penitentiary and passing anything in between to Betsy Ross House, National Liberty Museum, Independence Hall etc (check the pic of the map)
3. We did not get off at any stop (as you have this option, check the attraction you want and then jump into any returning bus) as it was rather cold and windy but only got out briefly at Rocky's statue to take some pics as encouraged by the very friendly guide
4. The guide was very friendly although I could smell an 'energy drink' on him, probably to get motivation on that dark day; he was full of information and knew things that even my partner did not know
5. Redeeming your City pass is very easy: you simply present your bar code you downloaded on the A4 page from the city pass website and as they scan the code for you at each location, you are sometimes given entry tickets as proof. Surely you are able to scan your code if it is also on your phone.
