I always like to start any visit with a tour just to get the "lay of the land". First, let me say, I went online the 1st night in town to book this or the other hop on/hop off bus and was told no availability. In the morning I called the number in the ad, which was Viator, and was able to book the combo day/night tour with no problem. When we arrived to catch the bus, I was told tickets could be bought with no problem right there (and at any stop) and very rarely were they too full. I would have preferred that option.
Anyway, the tour is excellent and while the night tour was the same, it was still a nice tour to take. Our guides were excellent on both tours and they all had a little trivia to add.
The first day in town we rode the Phlash as it was free for seniors. It's good but doesn't begin to cover the same territory tho some was the same.

Hello mtab,
Thank you for choosing Philadelphia Trolley Works and Big Bus. I am pleased you enjoyed your tour experience and thank-you for acknowledging our guides. They do take pride in providing an engaging & informative tour experience. Once of the advantages of having live guides is that they are able to provide unique and interesting stories each time around. I am also glad you were able to utilize a combo tour, both the daytime Hop-on/Hop-off & Philly By Night, to enhance your visit to the historic city of Philadelphia.
