We like to have a tour of a bigger city to start our stay. This gives us a sense of the city to know where we might enjoy exploring more later. The Big Bus Tour delivered a great route that touches most of the historical, architectural and green spaces in the downtown area. The truly nice feature was the courtesy van that picked us up at our hotel to start this adventure. The double decker bus has most of the seating on the open air second level, which is great on a sunny day in September. Riders are encouraged to get off and explore the different stops which included China town, the art museum, water front as well as the more well known Revolutionary sites. There is an extension on a motorized trolley bus that takes riders to the zoo and the site of the 1876 World Fair. I enjoyed each of the tour guides who are able to speak to the history of the different places. They are also knowledgeable about the hours of the different venues along the way. We learned with Issac, Maggie and Sebastian- all of these guides were engaging and made the trip well worth the cost. If you are staying more than one day, the company makes the 2 day pass very affordable and you can use the Big bus and a local transportation around the city to visit the spots you want to explore further. You just have to remember the bus follows a circular route. We had a great time on our Big Bus tour.
