If you want a quick overview of the city, this is a great way to go. Our guide was great at sharing information about each spot along the way. It was chilly up top but half of the upper deck was covered to keep the wind off. We were looking for an address to plug into the GPS but could only find the company address on the website... that was wrong. We had to plug in Independence Hall and try to find it from there. Great tour though!

Hello Jenni H Thank you for choosing Philadelphia Trolley Works & Big Bus. I am pleased your enjoyed your tour experience. Our double deckers buses run year round, so please dress accordingly. I am glad the tour helped to familiarize you with the city and all its amazing sites and attractions. I do apologize for any inconvenience due to the GPS. Our daytime tours depart from Stop 1, 5th & Market, but you can hop on at any of our other 27 stops along the way.

Prior to booking to our very stop, we had great service! The people that work for Big Bus Tours are exceptionally friendly. While they do depart Independence Hall promptly, the rest of the time can be delayed IF there happens to be a HUGE protest or two in the city. This past weekend, I missed a bus by seconds at the Rodin Museum but decided to wait for the next bus since they advertise they deploy buses every 35 minutes. I waited for an hour and a half before I finally hailed a cab to my next destination that wasn't within walking distance. When I called the office they told me due to the protests, all buses were at a halt/delayed. Due to the wait time, we only had two hours in the zoo before they closed at 5. When it was time to look for the stop for the big bus, the zoo staff shot us in the wrong direction causing us to miss yet another bus which happened to be the last one for the evening. So we only got to enjoy a full 15 minutes on the bus and there was no offer to give us another day thanks to delays, etc. I wasn't upset that I got to see downtown Philly by foot -- I live in the DC area. However, I was disappointed that I spent the money for 3 people when I could have applied it to Ubers/Taxis/other attractions. Be sure to check the local news/calendar to make the most of the trip.

Hello Miranda F Thank you for choosing Philadelphia Trolley Works & Big Bus. Your feedback is valuable to our company. It is unfortunate that despite the best of plans, things such as large protests in the city, can impact the tour. If we are notified in advance of a protest or road closure due to an event, sales and tour staff alert guests, and information is posted on our website. Unfortunately, there are times, when events or road closures occur spontaneously without advance notice. I do apologize for any inconvenience you and your group experienced. If you visit Philadelphia again, please give us another try.

We opted for the Big Bus tour based on review here on TA but ran in to some serious problems with the second bus we boarded. We boarded the first bus at stop one and enjoyed the narrated tour to our first destination, the Eastern Penitentiary. This driver and narrator were excellent and we enjoyed learning about the buildings and history of Philadelphia. The second bus picked us up along with several other riders in timely fashion. Our next visit was to the Art Museum. The driver stopped at #15 for a few minutes to allow riders to take pictures of the statue of Rocky and the Rocky steps. He then drove to the other side of the museum, stop # 16, where we, along with several others, disembarked to visit the museum. The driver reminded us that another bus would be along in about 45 minutes. We visited the museum and left in about 45 minutes. We waited a full 45 minutes at stop #16 then called the number we were given to find out when the next bus would arrive. A gentleman, who answered the phone, put me on hold while he contacted the bus driver. He returned to tell me the next ETA was about 10 minutes. We waited another 15 minutes then called again. This time a woman answered the phone who told us, "we don't stop at stop #16. Your driver should have told you that. You have to go back to #15 or forward to #17 to catch the next bus." Seriously? After waiting over an hour and making two phone calls we find out this is not actually a stop??? Even though we, along with several others, were dropped at this spot?
