Overview

Learning to surf with Sandbar Surf School is a lifetime bucket list thing that you will never forget. We are the premier surf school in California's Central Coast and we have been teaching surf lessons here in Pismo Beach since 1996. We have tons of local surf knowledge as well as many of our instructors are world travelers/surfers. We truly love what we do and you will have the best time in the world going with us. Laugh with us, surf with us and maybe even come to one of our bonfires! We would not only love to meet you from wherever in the world you are from, but we promise that your surf experience with us will be the part of the trip that you can't stop talking about in the days to come.

We signed our 10 yr old son up for surf lessons and he had a great time. They were organized, friendly, outfitted the kids in wetsuits and gave them each a suitable surfboard for their size. On the beach they did some stretching, some instruction and then hit the waves and the kids were getting up in no time. It was a great experience!

Our trip to CA was highlighted by our visit toSandbar Surf School. The owner and instructors were very helpful and super friendly. We had 4 teenagers who had never surfed and they had them standing up in no time. I can’t say enough about the school. From the friendliness to the fresh strawberries served during a break. Everything about this organization spells CLASS. Highly recommended.

We booked our lesson at the last minute and Johnny got us into the class. The instructors were patient (especially with me) and super helpful. After a quick on land lesson, they had us in the water practicing. Kids (15 & 13) were up surfing in no time. Jess was great!
