Overview

Learning to surf with Sandbar Surf School is a lifetime bucket list thing that you will never forget. We are the premier surf school in California's Central Coast and we have been teaching surf lessons here in Pismo Beach since 1996. We have tons of local surf knowledge as well as many of our instructors are world travelers/surfers. We truly love what we do and you will have the best time in the world going with us. Laugh with us, surf with us and maybe even come to one of our bonfires! We would not only love to meet you from wherever in the world you are from, but we promise that your surf experience with us will be the part of the trip that you can't stop talking about in the days to come.

It was my 6 year old son’s first surfing lesson and the teacher was very accommodating and helpful. I would suggest an afternoon lesson though as we went at 08:30 and the water was freezing and he could only manage half the lesson.

Hi! Yes, I thought we had it set that 6 yo's couldn't go just because of that they are too young for the 8 yr old and up group lesson and just get too cold during the spring weather times that it is best to learn (afternoons are crazy windy so we don't do them) but we did our best to accommodate and if we could change the we the temperature of the water, we certainly would! :) Jonny and the SSS crew

Great instruction, great support, lots of time in the water overall getting to try and out and learn. Our whole family did it, 4 people ranging in age from 15-52. We were all talking about when we would do it again in the car ride back to the hotel.

Johnny and his crew of surf instructors are the best! My daughters (11 and 13) had the best time learning how to surf!! The instructors are so fun and encouraging and helped them get up on several waves! They loved it so much we signed up for another lesson the next day!!! Thank you for such a great experience!!!!
