Overview

Learning to surf with Sandbar Surf School is a lifetime bucket list thing that you will never forget. We are the premier surf school in California's Central Coast and we have been teaching surf lessons here in Pismo Beach since 1996. We have tons of local surf knowledge as well as many of our instructors are world travelers/surfers. We truly love what we do and you will have the best time in the world going with us. Laugh with us, surf with us and maybe even come to one of our bonfires! We would not only love to meet you from wherever in the world you are from, but we promise that your surf experience with us will be the part of the trip that you can't stop talking about in the days to come.

I had a blast with Jonny and Angela in beautifull Pismo Beach in the end of August. It has been my first surfing lesson ever. It was not only super proffesional lesson but also great fun and adventure.

We were apprehensive about going surfing and were not sure what to expect. The kids (11 & 13) were skeptical but grudgingly came along. After the first day they were completely sold and want to try and do it at least once a month. Jonny and his team offer everything you could look for in an experience like this. They are very encouraging, very helpful and make something that is very tiring very fun. I especially liked that the only surprise was the strawberries that he served during the break. He allayed all my fears (esp the cold) and the experience met all of our expectations. That we went there on day 2 as well says it all.

Fantastic from start to finish! Reservation made online in advance, information provided was clear and communication with Jonny was really easy. Meeting up was no hassle and the 2 hour lesson was thoroughly enjoyed by my 9 and 11 year olds. Don't miss this if you are in the area. Thanks Jonny for a great time!
