Premier Whale Watch and Mendenhall Glacier Combo

Overview
Join us for Whale Watching in our cool Alaskan waters and then view one of 38 glaciers from the Juneau Ice Fields - the spectacular Mendenhall Glacier. We guide you on a 2 hour whale watching tour, spotting Humpback whales and other wildlife. Then off to the Mendenhall Glacier to spend some time hiking, watching fish spawn at Steep Creek or enjoy an outstanding view from the Visitor Center. If you are in Juneau all day - you can take advantage of our flexible Glacier Shuttle to get back to town. If you arrive in the afternoon expect to get 90 minutes at the park. But don't worry! That is the perfect amount of time to walk to nugget falls and take in the displays at the visitor center.

We toured with captain Jordan, while Russel and Charlie provided commentary. I had anticipated that we would be able to get closer to the whales, but they explained that we have to keep a minimum distance. We saw several whales, including a mother and calf. I would definitely recommend this team who made every minute enjoyable.

See the glacier before it retreats away completely. We were extremely lucky on our whale-watching tour. A mother humpback whale had migrated into the bay with her calf and the calf was extremely active, breaching every couple of minutes. Our crew - Captain Dan, Danielle, and Lukas - were courteous and knowledgeable. This was a great package and I can easily recommend it.

These guys promised whales and they delivered! We were able to see orcas, humpbacks, and porpoises. The on board naturalists and captain were extremely kind and accommodating to their guests. The naturalists had so much information to share on the whales in the area, and were happy to answer any questions. We primarily booked this tour for the whale watching, but enjoyed the views at Mendenhall Glacier too! If you would like to explore the area around Mendenhall Glacier, I would recommend making accommodations to have your own transportation for the end of the day. Although the company provides a free shuttle to the downtown area from Mendenhall, we were not given enough time to complete any of the nearby hiking trails before the last shuttle. Like I said - we were there for whales so the lack of time at Mendenhall was not a deal breaker for us, we still saw the beautiful sights and had an incredible time!
