Overview

Join us for Whale Watching in our cool Alaskan waters and then view one of 38 glaciers from the Juneau Ice Fields - the spectacular Mendenhall Glacier. We guide you on a 2 hour whale watching tour, spotting Humpback whales and other wildlife. Then off to the Mendenhall Glacier to spend some time hiking, watching fish spawn at Steep Creek or enjoy an outstanding view from the Visitor Center. If you are in Juneau all day - you can take advantage of our flexible Glacier Shuttle to get back to town. If you arrive in the afternoon expect to get 90 minutes at the park. But don't worry! That is the perfect amount of time to walk to nugget falls and take in the displays at the visitor center.

Tour time is a check-in time; departure is within 15 to 30 minutes.
The meeting place is under the cables in front of the Mt. Roberts Tramway.
All ports or docks are within 10 minutes walking distances, except one - the A Dock - which provides a “Downtown” shuttle to the Mt. Roberts Tramway.
Children must be accompanied by an adult
At time of booking, cruise ship passengers must provide the name of their ship
A moderate amount of walking is involved.
No food is allowed at the Mendenhall Glacier.
Tour operates in all weather conditions, so please dress appropriately in layers and for the likely chance of rain. It is recommended that you wear warm layered clothing, a waterproof jacket and comfortable slip-proof shoes
Always check with us regarding the shuttle schedule if you want to spend more than 1.5 hours at the Glacier park

What To Expect

Goldbelt Mount Roberts Tramway

This is our meeting point. We chose it because it is easy to spot from everywhere. We meet under the cables of the aerial gondola.

Inside Passage

We will drive you via bus out to Auke Bay Harbor, where you board our custom whale watching boats

Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center

We drive you via bus to this beautiful park. Time spent here depends on the time of day you arrive. Refer to your tour guide for the most accurate information.

Thoroughly enjoyed this tour with Jordon, Dustin and Carter. They certainly know their local wildlife and respect the whales accordingly. Saw plenty of whales and even had one come right up to the boat before it moved off behind us where it gave us an awesome display of its tail as it sounded. Amazing! The Mendenhall Glacier was a little disappointing as you don't actually get right up to it. However, were lucky enough to be a few metres from a mother bear and her cubs with very caring rangers between us. This day was probably the highlight of our trip and we booked independently online.

This was one of e first excursions we had booked for our trip to Alaska and it was fabulous, we saw whales, sea lions, porpoise and incredible beauty. The glacier was amazing as well and we saw bears near there also.

So having booked online I was not sure what to expect. Everything was 5 star from start to finish! We saw several whales! Our tour boat driver Terry, know we all had cameras and phones in our hands, did an amazing job keeping the boat steady. Katie, the naturalist who narrated our trip out, was in the know of the smallest of details of each site we approached. She even had names for some of the whales! We would book with them again for sure!
