Tour cancelled at the last minute apparently due to rain in the area - we were not informed and had to call (at £1.40 a minute) in panic, especially as our NCL ship had docked in a different port to where Seawind has advised us it would dock - we had to call them to say we would be a few minutes late but they said it was cancelled anyway. We saw other sea planes flying that morning and could not understand why we could not be offered an alternative such flying later, or to another area where bears were. We were refunded but that doesn’t make up for a trip we had been planning for 3 years being a 50th trip, and booked over a year in advance. It’s not as if we can get back to Alaska any time soon living in the UK. We have not been offered any good will gesture such as a future discount. We feel very let down by Seawind Aviation.

Ed, I'm very sorry you were disappointed and understand your feelings here. Sometimes the weather changes throughout the day, as it did that specific day. The pilots came back from trips and said it was getting windy along with wind gusts in this area, so we made the call to cancel right before the trip. We cancelled 2 flights going to Polk Inlet. Safety is our first priority! Also,there was not an alternate choice to offer unfortunately, but we are happy to offer a discount in the future. Wonderful experience with Seawind aviation ! I contacted them because this type of excursion were fully booked on our cruise (NCL Encore0 and they answered right away with the right level of detail. On our excursion day, they were nice enough to drive us back to the deck when city shuttles were gone (wonderful, as it would have been an issue) On top of that, the excursion was amazing. Our family of five and a couple only. We went to an isolated island, did a 10 minutes walk in the woods before getting to the plateform. We were alone, a bit scared as the bears were right around us, but felt very safe with our guide, who was also very knowledgeable and interesting. An amazing experience for us all
