Was visiting New York with a group of six friends, half of whom were there for the first time. Sheldon’s tour was outstanding and made our entire trip. Three things stand out: 1) He was personable (and quite frankly hilarious) from the moment we met him in our hotel lobby to the time he dropped us off. Based on our interests — gathered from extensive communication prior to the trip — he tailored our tour specifically to our group and mixed in standard NYC tour stops along with sights we would have surely missed. 2.) He was knowledgeable. You could tell this guide loves his city and loves to show it off, and had extensive life and work experience in many areas that seeped through in his stories. Even those of us who were not first-time visitors learned something new about New York. Sheldon is a natural storyteller — and did I mention he was funny, too? 3.) He was flexible. A pretty steady rain — the remnants of Hurricane Florence, I believe — joined us on the second half the tour, but that only meant for us that our timing was perfect. Sheldon and his driver were undaunted, and because of that so were we. Will never forget standing outside in Times Square in the rain holding an umbrella and my chin up at the same time. I highly recommend this tour, and would absolutely book Best New York Tours again given the opportunity.

I just want to tell everyone that this is the tour you should take if visiting NYC. We had four people taking a 6 hour tour with Sheldon and we saw and learned so much. He is so knowledgeable, fun, and helpful that I just can't say enough how we all enjoyed the day. We even hoped that he might have a cancellation or opening so we could book another tour that week. He didn't -bummer! He knows so much about the area and we say so many spots to visit later on our own. He even took the subway with us to show us how to get around. What a guy! Having a large SUV and a driver made the tour so much easier. Sheldon could get out with us at places and the driver would pick us up at a spot that was near. Sheldon is worth every cent you pay for this tour.

This was an amazing day and I am so glad we did it. I was a little nervous because it was on the spendy side and I didn't know if it would be worth it. The answer, YES! Sheldon is fantastic. We can't say enough good things about him. He is so knowledgeable about the city and prepared a great day for us. Being picked up and dropped off in front of your hotel is priceless. There were six of us ranging from 84 years old to 6 years old. I was worried about everyone staying entertained and I can honestly say everyone said it was the highlight of our trip. It would have taken days to see what we saw in 5 hours. Being on a private tour is the way to go. We will definitely schedule with him when we return so we can explore other parts of the city. He is easy to work with, answers his phone and emails quickly and is very professional. If you haven't booked your tour yet, do it! The history you will learn about the city and the memories you will create are priceless.
