Private Dog Sled Tour

Overview
Start this 2-hour tour by getting geared up for the cold weather. You’ll then head into the dog yard and play with the dogs while the staff harnesses up the team. After a little instruction, you’ll take off for about an hour on a 6.5-mile trail, with a stop halfway to take photos of Mt. Denali if it’s visible. You’ll take turns driving the sled (with an experienced musher on hand!). Then return back for some cocoa and cuddling with retired sled dogs.

Overseeing the operation are Rohn and Alyssa Buser. Rohn is a 3x Iditarod finisher and champion of multiple mid distances races. He is the son of Martin Buser, who has won the Iditarod 4 times and has the record for the most Iditarods (39 times), so Rohn literally grew up riding sleds!

The dogs of Susuitna Sled Dog Adventures are more than working dogs, they are our family. We love sharing their passion with others and hope you leave our home filled with as much admiration and respect for these amazing animals as we are.

We had such a great day at Susitna Kennels. Alyssa and Rohn were laid back and friendly and the dogs were wonderful. We got to spend a long time with the dogs which was very different from another dog sled experience I had in Fairbanks. All around great day and would love to sponsor a dog in the future.

where should i start from, Alyssa and Rohn are great people. they have alot of passion for what they are doing. their dogs are so energetic and the good thing is that they offer tours late thru the season because they are located up north from Anchorage and the snow really melts slower there. Def recommend them if you want to have fun with your family.

We loved the ride! Alyssa, Rhon and their dogs make a great team. We learned a lot. The ride is picturesque. Dress warmly, and then add another layer or two!
