What To Expect

Newport Beach

Our Coast Guard Licensed Captain and Certified Marine Naturalist will welcome you aboard Surfrider. You will get a tour of Newport Harbor. Followed by a fast boat ride out on the Pacific Ocean through Newport, Laguna Beach, and Dana Point in search of the abundant Marine Mammals off our beautiful coast. You will be given a narration by our expert Marine Naturalist about these amazing mammals

We spent an afternoon with Dustin on March 12, 2021 in his boat with hopes of seeing dolphins and whales. He made us all very comfortable as he explained all the details of the boat and the excursion. We headed out to sea and soon we were able to see 2 whales and followed them for a while. Captain Dustin then took us to an area where he often sees dolphin. Within a few minutes we caught a glimpse of where they were and once he moved into that area they were every where jumping out of the water and they appeared to circle and follow the boat. It was amazing! We also saw 2 seals and enjoyed the close up of the sea lions as we went back into the harbor. Definitely one of the best excursion for seeing dolphin or whale.

I have been on this tour 3 times and it's always a really great time! Captain Dustin always finds us dolphins, whales, or both! He's very knowledgeable about the Marine life too. Overall a really great experience and I would book again the next time I need to show my family and friends what the California coast has to offer.

Dustin is the best! He got us so close to see the dolphins and it was a perfect sunset ride. Felt super safe at all times.
