The whole experience was amazing. Capt. Mike is very experienced and found the perfect areas to salmon fish. We caught a total of 11--10 pinks and 1 black cod. His boat is obviously his pride and joy--very clean and comfortable. I would HIGHLY recommend The Alaska Catch!

This review is written by me - an experienced fisherman. If you are looking to book a fishing excursion with the following criteria: 1) boat safety, 2) knowledgeable Captain, 3) efficient and smooth operation, 4) smaller, more intimate private fishing experience, book with this company. Captain Mike picked us up on the dock and took us directly to his boat. Suggestion: pay and print the Alaska salmon fishing licenses online before you get there. We did this and we were fishing in no time. Captain Mike reviewed the safety procedures - bait, outrigger and poles were prepared and ready to fish, very efficient. When we were trolling and the fish hit, we each took turns reeling in the catch. We fished in two alternate fishing spots after a pack of Orca's seemed to chase some of the fish away (btw seeing the Orca's was cool!). Captain Mike returned us to the cruise dock on time with many wonderful memories. It was a great experience for my family. P.S. We got lucky: weather was good and we caught six fish. If the weather is bad and the fish are not biting and the Captain is trying different bait and fishing locations, just rotten luck - do not blame Captain Mike!

Captain Mike provides stellar service along with exceptional knowledge and skills for a fishing trip that will leave you smiling from both the experience and your catch! Our time was limited as we were only in Ketchikan for 5 hours and he was prompt in picking us up right from our cruise ship so it was convenient for us and we were on the water in 10 minutes! He put us right on the fish for halibut fishing to start and we limited out then landed a large king salmon to top off our trip! Capt Mike ensured our catch was processed and shipped home with a reputable local contact and we received our Alaskan catch in pristine condition! We highly recommend Capt Mike with Alaskan Catch Fishing Charters and will be back ourselves to fish with him again!
