Overview

Learn how to surf at the birth place of Surfing! We are conveniently located in the heart of Waikiki, right on the beach. We are only steps away from the ocean.

Private group surf lessons require a minimum of 2 people to participate, and up to 5 students can be together in one group. You must be able to swim and over 12 years old to take this lesson. If you are 12 yrs and younger, you must take one-on-one private lessons instead of group lessons .If you want to maximize your time in the water, sign up for one-on-one private lessons.

Make sure to ask about the photo services (with additional charge) to capture the moment!

We had a great time, but the instructors were not very patient with beginners. They barely gave any instruction on land (maybe 1 minute worth) and basically put us out in the ocean without any idea of what to do. The instructor we had left us while we were out there, paddled way far ahead of us, and was very stern with at us out there. With the way the instructors were, this should definitely not be for beginners. Again, great time, got great pictures, but the staff could’ve been nicer!

Our guide was fantastic and the instructions were very clear! He helped us learn on the beach and then we got in the water within 5 mins. It’s a crowded place to learn to surf, so be prepared to be stared at the entire time. The only thing I wish we knew about was the photo options. We didn’t even know there was a photographer, but we also didn’t look that hard at all the material. I think the photo packages are a bit overpriced considering no editing is done.

Taking pictures from the surfboad by surfing along the surfers require a quite skill, and we feel that the price is adequate. Having said that, however, we are happy to relay your message. Our instructor was very helpful and had a great attitude. We caught waves every time and successfully stood up and rode them most of the time. Very rewarding and fun to have such a positive experience as a beginner. If you’ve never been to the location, leave yourself a little extra time after parking to locate the pool deck at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel, we found that part a little tricky.
