Me and my family had a great time visiting the vineyards of the Santa Ynez valley with Scott from Sustainable Vine Wine Tours. We visited three exquisite vineyards with all very different styles and flavours, which gave us a great sense of the broad spectrum that the area has to offer in terms of wines. The tour was very informative, Scott explained a lot about the history and geography of the area. What made this tour extra special is that all locations were private and closed to the public. We got to talk to the owners of the vineyards in a very small and intimate setting and ask them all the questions about the wines, running a wine business, and life in the valley overall. Keep in mind that the owners are also there to sell you their wines. It is not 'expected' to purchase from each vineyard, but very much appreciated. The prices of the bottles run between $60 - $100 per bottle - and when you see and meet them you will want to support their business! Overall, the day was very well organised by Scott: we were picked up at the hotel, the van was very luxurious, there were plenty of snacks (cheeses and fruits), and the lunch was delicious. We had a great experience and it was a lovely day with the family.
