Mount Rushmore is more than just the carvings. They have secrets that are not easily revealed. GeoFunTrek's guides are local experts with decades of experience. We have no seasonal guides, part-time guides or trainees. This is a family-owned business and all tours are conducted by family members: Cindy, Christopher and John Esposti. We have the knowledge and skills to make your day one to remember. You will always get the A-team when you tour with GeoFunTrek Tours!
All tours are PRIVATE TOURS, exclusive to the group booking the tour, and no additional guests will be included. Children must be accompanied by one adult. Children 3 years and younger are free and will have their own seat. Children's car seats must be supplied by family members when required. Our largest vehicle, a Sprinter van seats 9, and a larger vehicle may be rented or we can add a Honda Pilot for larger groups. This is a great tour for 3-generation families with Children, multiple couples and groups of friends.

GEOFUNTREK TOURS SAFETY UPDATE COVID-19 Your comfort and safety are our primary concern. Take a private tour, limited to your group only and enjoy the day. We have only three guides: John, Chris & Cindy. They are family members from the same household. They constantly monitor each other’s health. So even when not at work “THE BOSS” is always watching.
We do not have vehicles with a wheelchair lift. We can accommodate a folding wheechair and the guest must be able to enter and exit the vehicle on their own. We will gladly assist with any needed assistance and pushing.

What To Expect

Mount Rushmore National Memorial

You will enjoy a personalized guided tour of the Shrine of Democracy with a local expert. Visit the Sculptor's Studio, Presidential Trail and Visitor Center.

Crazy Horse Memorial

Experience a personalize tour with your own local expert and learn the history of the warrior and memorial.

Custer State Park

Drive through the 71,000 acre park making frequent stop at the sites of your choosing. Take short hikes and visit the lodges or visitor facilities of your choice. Areas included are the Needles Highway, Iron Mountain Road and the Wildlife Loop Road.

Our tour was October 15, 2024, we went to Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Sylvan lake, needles highway, Custar State Park, through the town of Keystone. Our day began when John picked us up at our hotel about 9 am. John is very knowledgeable about the area, history, animals, and at every turn each step of the way he had information, geology, plant life, trees, rock formations. Indian information, Custar, and could answer any questions you might have. In Custar State Park we saw pronghorn, prairie dogs, white tail deer, bison, a coyote, wild turkeys and more. It was our choice as to where to go for lunch. We stopped at this great lodge and lunch was delicious. We returned to our hotel around 6 pm. Having seen everything we had hoped to and much more. John and his company go above and beyond so that you have a wonderful experience. Water and snacks are provided throughout the day. We highly recommend you do this tour when in the area.

We had a great time with Cindy as our guide. She was very informative, compassionate, and accommodating. My husband has mobility issues, so we took along a wheelchair which we put in the back of the vehicle. Cindy helped with the chair and even stayed with my husband while our son and I explored a bit. Her local knowledge allowed us to hit the high spots and skirt the crowds. It made for a relaxing and stress-free day of exploring the beautiful Black Hills.
