Railbikes along Pudding Creek

Overview
Pedaling along our historic tracks, bathed in dappled sunlight and a light breeze, you’ll experience a new freedom on the rails, unlike anything else. Without the need to steer, you’re unbound, able to look around at the wonder of this untouched stretch of the natural world, spotting blue herons, osprey, an occasional lounging turtle, perhaps a playful river otter, a deer munching on the foliage, and during peak berry season maybe even a bear.

My wife and I rode the railbikes along Pudding Creek. Awesome experience. Beautiful scenery along the route and it was very unique to cruise on the rails. The electric assisted bikes made things super easy. Nice little optional hike at the half way point. Our guides Johnny and Chris were amazing. Very helpful, informative, and loads of fun. Highly recommend this activity.

So here’s the deal. It’s great, but very short for the money. Most of the time is spent waiting for the train to show up. You spend less than an hour on the actual bike. It’s a lot of money for that. I would give it five stars except the cost is insane for what it is. That being said. It is fun. Things we wish we had known prior, it’s not actual exercise. The wind makes it cold so wear layers and don’t expect to get hot. Also, bring food if your the type. The cars have baskets and you have over an hour at the end of the line.

Lots of fun! Easy to ride! Great views of the redwoods. Highly entertaining guide, Johnny! We plan on doing it again next time we’re in town.
