Ravenel Fishing Charters

Overview
Come on a guided adventure with lots of good times and breath taking scenery. Edisto Island is one of the last few untamed places of South Carolina. Not many people are familiar with it's vast unexplored rivers and tributaries and the overabundance of strong fisheries. Few people realize the rich history of this quite little island as well. These two things combined are what makes Captain Justin Ravenel tick. He grew up spending every second of his free time getting to know the secrets of the island and he like's nothing more than to share them with you. The only thing Justin enjoys more than putting you on fish is spending time with his twin baby girls and his AMAZING wife!

Justin is very knowledgeable of the surrounding area and provided an incredible fishing experience for myself and boyfriend. Not only did we catch redfish, black drums, and whitings within minutes but he also took us to an area where we got to watch dolphins play. The whole entire experience from beginning to end was incredible. He is a wonderful Captain with a gracious demeanor. I highly recommend booking him.

Last year, I booked a trip with Justin Ravenel because I wanted my seven-year-old grandson Julius and his mom to catch fish. Justin delivered in spades. He had both of them on big reds in 10 minutes and even had Julius driving the boat. Last week, I booked a personal trip (just me) with Justin because I wanted to learn to catch reds in the small creeks around Edisto using artificials. Again, the trip was a great success. Justin poled me around the flats and I sight-fished from his “micro skiff.” In addition to the reds, I caught a really big flounder. But most importantly, the session made me a better saltwater fisherman. Based on Justin’s tips, I was soon casting 30% farther. And I learned when to fish (tide-wise) and the types of places where the reds hang out. As I hoped, I was able to apply this knowledge when fishing from my kayak. Over the next four days, I was regularly onto reds in Scott Creek. Thanks, Captain Justin! Hal Herzog

I’ve been on a lot of charter boats, Justin is one of the best Captains anywhere. His deep knowledge of Edisto combined with his great interpersonal skills result in really unique adventures for all. My wife, four children and I are still talking about the adventure we had with Justin. Fishing, playing on a sandbar, checking crab pots, and some good ole cruising were exactly what we were looking for. Our children are ages 2-12 and Justin did great with all of them. Highly recommended!
