Renaissance Ride: The Buffalo Foodie Tour

Overview
See the city’s exciting resurgence on a fun food tour with tastings at several of the city’s best foodie hotspots. We’ll sample some of Buffalo's hidden gems, including a worker-owned bakery and an international market run by refugees.

We’ll start the tour with chaga coffee at Public Espresso, a coffee harvested by the workers at the shop, located in Buffalo’s historic Hotel Lafayette. Continue the ride to Breadhive for some of their long-ferment sourdough pretzels and dip.

Visit the Westside Bazaar for the main course, where we’ll be visited by several small business owners who will share their personal stories of immigration and international food samples. The tour concludes with dessert at Blue Table Chocolates or Foibles for something sweet.

We’ll also learn about grassroots activism and immigrant organizing efforts – providing an authentic, unique, and delicious way to experience the city.

Buffalo can be a tough nut to crack, with rich activity happening below the surface. Going on a tour with this crew of knowledgeable, entertaining, passionate folks will cue you into the rich history, amazing food and current vibrancy of Buffalo. If you're visiting, this is something you should do as soon as you can after arriving, hands down.

Eric – thanks so much for the review and your support – it really means a lot to me. I couldn't have made it this far without our amazing community here in Buffalo. I hope to catch you on another ride soon – and will definitely pass this along to Chris!

Thanks, Jess! Was a great day – and fun first East Meets West Tour. We'll have to try to get those wooden bikes out on some future rides. Hope you guys can join us again :)

My wife and I did the East Meets West Ride last night and had a great time. We brought our own bikes to ride, and the out of town guests on the tour rode the custom Buffalo Bike Tours bikes. We rode about 12 or so miles over a few hours, which was the perfect distance and a leisurely pace. The food stops were evenly spaced along the ride and included a diverse range of flavors from hidden-gem type restaurants that you don't often hear about and might not find on your own. The focus was the food, but Marc has so much knowledge of Buffalo's history that we also learned a bunch of interesting facts along the way. He did a great job bringing the group together and making everyone comfortable. Overall it was a great way to spend our evening and we'll definitely go back for another tour. I highly recommend checking it out.
