What To Expect

American Civil War Museum- Historic Tredegar

We will not go into this museum, but we will go past it and talk about it! It is a fantastic museum for all interested in learning more about the Civil War

Canal Walk

Where Richmond started! We will ride a bit on the Canal Walk over to Brown's Island on our Landmark Segway tours!

Virginia State Capitol

Explore the grounds of the Virginia State Capitol. Here we will talk about George and Martha Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Barbara Johns, and many other Richmond notables!

After the first five minutes of borderline terror this is so easy and fun. The guide was excellent (I think his name was Vince). You could never cover on foot all we did in two hours on this tour. We did it on a Saturday, traffic was very light so i did not feel unsafe. Would take another one of their tours if I was in town again.

Our relatives had been on a Segway tour recently in Pittsburgh, so we thought they would love to see Richmond the same way. This would be their first time in OUR hometown. It was amazing. Even though we had lived here for four years, we had not experienced center city Richmond like this. Our guide Vince was super. There is so much history in Richmond and if you don’t take the time to see or learn about it, you will never realize what you are missing out on! We had so much fun, saw so many interesting sites and learned so much about our new home city. We WILL be taking other Segway tours soon.

We took the one-hour Landmarks tour. Just learning to ride a Segway was fun and easy. They can go 12 mph so you see a lot more than you would on an ordinary walking tour. It's a great was to get a general sense of what there is to see in the city.
