My husband and I had a great experience on the River North tour. Jake was a friendly and knowledgeable guide making they day filled with great food and culture very enjoyable. There is a lot of walking but it makes up for the amount of yummy food consumed! I've been on a few other food tours with other companies and definitely recommend Sidewalk Tours. Helpful hint: The meeting place is on the corner of the Merchandise Mart at Wells and Kinzie, the address of 222 W. Merchandise Mart Plaza is essentially non-existent and the security people in the Mart had no clue. Good thing we arrived in the area early 'cause we spent a lot of time circling the building looking for the meeting place. Not a big deal but it could have been easier.

Went on the tour with friends and family and although it was drizzling, we had a great time tasting food and learning about the area. Aaron our guide was GREAT, very engaging and knowledgable. Would recommend to anyone, we all live in Chicago and still learned about our great city !! Looking forward to my River North tour this weekend :)

Just went on the River North food tour---it was great! Alyssa was our tour guide and she was fantastic. Not only did we learn about the food and the restaurants we were eating at, but we also learned about several notable Chicago buildings (which we passed on the tour) and historical events. I am a Chicago resident, and I still learned a ton of new information! Tour is great for residents and visitors alike. Alyssa had the group's attention the whole time, and had great charisma and storytelling ability. Certainly an enjoyable experience. As for the food-WOW. Donut Vault had definitively the best donut I have ever eaten. I thought that after "samples" at restaurants, I would still be feeling hungry, but this was plenty of food! We ate a very ample amount at all of the locations we went to, and there was great variety. Even with the walking, I felt full after! It was actually nice to be able to walk around in between restaurants. I definitely recommend this food tour to anyone, visitor or Chicagoan! It was informative, engaging, and delicious!
