We had a short time to visit the park, but thoroughly enjoyed our drive. The cliff hanging skilled drive through these mountains was well worth the trip. We came through Estes Park and entered into Beaver Meadows Visitor Center entrance... and then headed right onto the famous Trail Ridge Road and up to Alpine Visitor Center where you can do a quick climb up several stairs to the highest looking point at 12005 feet above sea level. I was the only one in my group able to climb up... as the other two in my party were light headed and nauseous from the altitude. We then had to head back out and on for the day.... but this drive we saw coyote, marmot, and Elk... it was a beautiful drive with several stops for scenic views and photography.

I was offered an all day tour by Kristen of the Colorado Sightseer. It was fabulous. Our tour guide, Scott, asked the 11 members in his small group what they would like and we all said take us to the park and show us wildlife. And he did! We saw a moose, elk, mule deer, wild turkeys, and several small mammals. Scott was very informative and took us on the east side of the park up to over 12,000 feet. The trails we wanted to explore were left to our discretion. We were also provided with an awesome lunch. As a finale, we were able to shop in the town of Estes. But we wanted to spend most of our 8 plus hours in the park itself. I was by myself but was very comfortable and well taken care of. Thank you guys for providing an awesome tour experience. I highly recommend this tour and the Colorado Sightseer company.

the vistas were stunning. go early and make sure that you check for road construction. we went online and got with the rangers so it was fairly trouble free. watch for cars pulled over, usually a sign that you can see some of the wildlife. Spotted elk herds and some moose
