Overview

Unlike any walking tour in Salem, the Forest Lore Tour takes you outside the heart of downtown and into one of the few remaining wild places in the area, where you learn from a practicing Witch, what it means to experience real magic, why nature is so important, and how to incorporate ancient knowledge into modern life.

Wear your hiking boots and bring your curiosity! This is a one-mile, guided hike that takes to you the crossroads of science, history, and philosophy in Salem Woods. Rain or shine, but we can't operate in snow due to trail conditions.

Loved everything! The plant and herb info the fact that it was a hike in the woods. I love the info on witch culture and practices and how it all ties into nature!

Our guide, Uni, had a positive and friendly demeanor. She started the tour promptly at 3pm, greeted each person with a gift, and instructed us about the rules of the forest, which set clear expectations in a welcoming way. We had a larger group so it was a little challenging to hear at points. Our walking order switched up as we went which helped. Tell her if you have hearing trouble or trouble walking and she'll adjust. The hike was easy but a bit narrow in parts. I'd recommend wearing hiking boots in case of mud and ticks. It was fun to be in the woods where natural magic may occur (and away from the crowds downtown). I enjoyed learning some about our natural environment and being a modern witch. I'd have enjoyed learning a little more about both but was happy with the tour overall.

Definitely wasn’t what we expected but it was a fun nature tour through the woods. We learned some good information and our tour guide was great!
