As we were only in town for a day, it made sense to do a tour like this, which covered so much in a short space of time. Absolutely the best thing we did in San Antonio We did the Alamo while waiting for the tour bus to arrive. I guess it meant more to Americans rather than Europeans, as it was their history, but it was interesting up to a point. The bus tour was brilliant. Our driver/ tour guide/ comedian ( I WISH i got his name for this review) just made the trip. Every comment was a funny observation about the most mundane views. His full tip jar at the end told me that I wasn't the only one who appreciated his humour. Then the tower. OK, It's a big building with a nice view. I don't know what some people who complained, were expecting. Yes, you are not up there for long, but it does what it says on the tin. Nice views, come on down. We grabbed a quick bite and got on the riverboat tour. Again, the guide made all the difference. Lovely views with commentary

We were disappointed with the Alamo. There were lots of plaques to read which is all information we can find on the internet. We had hoped it would be more interactive. There were three historians outside that we chatted with and that was the only really interesting part. The hop on hop off bus was interesting and a nice way to see parts of the city. The riverboat was nice - relaxing with a bit of history. Everything was very commercialized.

Cruise is very nice, hop on /off bus is great, operators is knowledgeable and fun must do while in San Antonio
