We wanted to see several sites in San Antonio and went with the City Sightseeing tour. Buses run every 20 minutes on a very comprehensive route around town. Many stops where you can hop on and off. The double decker buses are a great way to see the town. The Tower of Americas and River Cruise are included. Josh was one of our drivers and they were all very knowledgeable and friendly.

San Antonio is one of our favorite cities by far. Their Riverwalk area cannot be beat for southern ambiance and hospitality. Plenty of restaurants to choose as you walk along. There are also options for boating the Riverwalk. One will take you around the general tourist area with guided talk. Another is sort of a barge taxi which takes you quite a bit further up all the way to the dam and lock system. The 2nd option is not necessarily guided but our boatman was quite talkstive and informative. Both are reasonably priced. The Alamo was quite crowded as it was Spring Break so we basically did a quick walkthru just before closing. Full of history so when you go, spend more time than we did. We'd been there before so didn't feel cheated. More missions to visit within short distance also.

We selected the package deal which included Hop-On Hop-Off for three days, the Tower of Americas ride, the River Walk boat ride and the Buckhorn Saloon. The is a great way to see many sites in the downtown area. Our salesman for the City Sightseeing bus was Jerry who was very helpful. All of the attractions purchased were great except the Buckhorn. This is not worth the money to see the museum. The bus comes to each stop every 20 minutes. This is very convenient. When you get off at a stop, pay close attention to the street names so you know where to get back on again. There is construction going on in the city and the stops for the bus are not all marked. The drivers are mostly retired guys who enjoy telling stories about the history of San Antonio. Make sure you plan your stops. To do all 18 would take several days.
