San Diego Whale Watching Cruise

Overview

Whale watching season is all year long in San Diego! Our team at Next Level Sailing provides the optimal experience with guides so experienced we received a 100 percent success rate during winter whale watching when spotting the King of the Deep.

We are one of the best outdoor activities to do in San Diego. Gray whale watching season spans from mid-December through April. Blue whales and fin whales are seen feeding in San Diego from April - August. Humpback whales and minke whales are seen throughout the year, particularly in the spring, summer, and fall. Aboard our 141-foot sailing yacht, the Yacht America, you will see a plethora of whales firsthand in their natural habitat. In addition to whales, we also see dolphins and sea lions, and an abundance of naval activity. Don't be surprised if you see an F-18 fly overhead!

I took my son, his girlfriend, and his friend on a Saturday cruise. It was great! We saw so many dolphins and a few Blue Whales. The captain and all staff were the best! As my son noted: the first mate educated us while we sailed, kept the excitement in check until we saw the marine life. They also did an excellent job social distancing and keeping everyone very safe. We would all go again if we had opportunity to. Wonderful experience! I have also recommended to other family traveling to San Diego soon.

We had a great time and felt very safe. The staff did a great job of practicing social distance and wearing their masks. There were only 12 customers on our cruise so it was easy to spread apart. We saw hundreds of dolphins and a whale. The staff was very knowledgeable and the ride was smooth.

We thoroughly enjoyed our cruise on the America. We saw a blue whale and thousands of dolphins! The staff & captain were amazing, they kept us all safe with social distancing in place and all wore masks. Beverages and snack on board. Restroom available. It was a once in a lifetime experience that we will enjoy forever. Thank you for having us a board the America.
