Overview

Whale watching season is all year long in San Diego! Our team at Next Level Sailing provides the optimal experience with guides so experienced we received a 100 percent success rate during winter whale watching when spotting the King of the Deep.

We are one of the best outdoor activities to do in San Diego. Gray whale watching season spans from mid-December through April. Blue whales and fin whales are seen feeding in San Diego from April - August. Humpback whales and minke whales are seen throughout the year, particularly in the spring, summer, and fall. Aboard our 141-foot sailing yacht, the Yacht America, you will see a plethora of whales firsthand in their natural habitat. In addition to whales, we also see dolphins and sea lions, and an abundance of naval activity. Don't be surprised if you see an F-18 fly overhead!

Amazing day! Not only did we see a Blue Whale we also saw pods of dolphins not only once but twice! Crew was great and they have managed to be very Covid conscious even on the ship with your own little zone that you can go mask free.

Couldn’t have chosen a better whale watching tour. I’ve been on a few, but this was by far the best! The yacht was so spacious and beautiful. The crew was very attentive & made us all feel like VIPs. Each group had their own section and with less people on board due to covid precautions, it was very easy to see the wildlife from all angles. Captain Troy made sure we had a great time on the water. We were able to see a blue whale, several dolphin pods & lots of birds, even a sea lion. I will definitely book this tour again and I highly recommend this tour to those wanting to be outdoors yet wanting to keep their distance from others. The crew does a fantastic job keeping everyone happy but distanced for a spectacular day on the ocean.
