Overview

Whale watching season is all year long in San Diego! Our team at Next Level Sailing provides the optimal experience with guides so experienced we received a 100 percent success rate during winter whale watching when spotting the King of the Deep.

We are one of the best outdoor activities to do in San Diego. Gray whale watching season spans from mid-December through April. Blue whales and fin whales are seen feeding in San Diego from April - August. Humpback whales and minke whales are seen throughout the year, particularly in the spring, summer, and fall. Aboard our 141-foot sailing yacht, the Yacht America, you will see a plethora of whales firsthand in their natural habitat. In addition to whales, we also see dolphins and sea lions, and an abundance of naval activity. Don't be surprised if you see an F-18 fly overhead!

Its was a beautiful day for sailing. The captain and crew were super knowledgable of the harbor and San Diego. Lots of interesting facts and info! We felt very safe with the safety measures they are following due to Covid-19. Masks were enforced until you were in your seat. Everyone was six feet apart. They wiped down the hand rail on the stairs after ea family entered and exited. Unfortunately, we did not see any whales, but we will go back and try again!

Give people more freedom. I wanted to go on a boat ride not in jail. For every move i made even if i got on the other side of the boat for just a second i was yelled at by the crew. Terrible experience. 4 hour ride and all they give you were some extra small chips.... the seats were very uncomfortable. They definitely take the fun out of a boat ride. No smoking , no vaping no standing. Avoid.

As the founder of Next Level Sailing nearly 20 years ago I can say that we have the greatest customers. It is one of the greatest reasons we enjoy what we do. So it is a blessing that customers like this one are so rare. This customer starting smoking without before we even left the dock. As the captain, I promptly and professionally asked him to stop and told him that smoking was not permitted. It is unfortunate that he then choose later in the trip to go to a restroom where he smoked again. This caused significant time by our crew to properly clean the restroom and restore it to a clean and fresh state. And since we reopened after the Covid shutdown we pride ourselves for creating excellent space for our guests that respect social distancing. We want our guests to feel safe and follow all required guidelines from health officials . However, this guest would move next to other families without a mask or any respect to the other guests. So yes, in a second, we asked him to respect the space of other families. So if you want smoke free environment that respects all Covid regulations then we are here to serve you.

This was a wonderful experience!! I can’t think of anything bad to say! We saw a bunch a dolphins and the tail of a humpback whale!! So beautiful.
