San Diego Whale Watching Cruise

Overview
Whale watching season is all year long in San Diego! Our team at Next Level Sailing provides the optimal experience with guides so experienced we received a 100 percent success rate during winter whale watching when spotting the King of the Deep.

We are one of the best outdoor activities to do in San Diego. Gray whale watching season spans from mid-December through April. Blue whales and fin whales are seen feeding in San Diego from April - August. Humpback whales and minke whales are seen throughout the year, particularly in the spring, summer, and fall. Aboard our 141-foot sailing yacht, the Yacht America, you will see a plethora of whales firsthand in their natural habitat. In addition to whales, we also see dolphins and sea lions, and an abundance of naval activity. Don't be surprised if you see an F-18 fly overhead!

This tour was INCREDIBLE! I took a whale tour in Hawaii last year and it has nothing on this one! I was worried that it was too early in the season to get some good views, but we saw 3 whales multiple times over and hundreds of dolphins jumping alongside our ship. We even saw a humpback whale breach! It was amazing! The crew was so friendly and extremely knowledgeable! They went above and beyond for us and made this experience top notch. The yacht is also incredible!! Extra thanks to Diana and Fathom for all of the whale and San Diego facts as well as Captain Troy and the rest of the team!

Our trip was amazing. The entire staff was extremely friendly and created a welcoming environment. They did a great job of communicating on where you were, different history of the area, facts on whales, etc. We saw three humpback whales (one baby), a pod of dolphins, and tons of sea lions. For the price it couldnā€™t be better. 4 1/2 hours of fun, they also provide two snacks during, soda and water are free, and alcoholic beverages for just $5. They have the cutest shirts to purchase for $20. It does get very cold when youā€™re out in the ocean and very very windy (and this is coming from a Wisconsinite!). I highly recommend bringing a sweatshirt, coat, and blanket - you will need them! Overall amazing experience, if youā€™re visiting the area I highly recommend going!!

First time sailing and visiting San Diego. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time. It was cold and windy during the trip and the crew was very hospitable. Huge ship! They gave us free snacks, water, and a blanket. We did not see any whales but a large group of wild Dolphins were swimming near the boat with their new born babies. A beautiful sight to see. I will definitely come back in the spring during the peak of whale season to see whales.
