Overview

Our trips depart from Mission Bay, which requires only a short 10 minute journey access to the open ocean where whales and dolphins can be seen! The search for whales and other animals begins as soon as you depart the dock and our marine biologists are on the microphone explaining exactly what to expect and what you are seeing from the get go!

This is the company to go out with. They were actually booked full when I called for a reservation. Before my dissapointment set in ,they told me if we came to the dock 1 hr before we could put our name on a wait list and possibly get on. I did and we did. What an amazing trip. The guide told us we would be lucky to see even 1 blue whale as they like to travel alone. Well we had the luck of seeing two huge pods of dolphins. They swam next to our boat for a long while. I was able to get some beautiful photos of them swimming, jumping and playing in the water. Wait for it..... 10 Blue whale sightings. You heard me, 10! We had the luck of watching 10 blue whales swimming , diving and eating on our trip. The guide was just as excited as we were. Everytime they come up for air they let out a 25ft spout of water which can be seen from hundreds of yards away. The captain stayed longer than we were suppossed to as the whales just kept feeding close by. We had to leave them behind to make it back to shore on time. Knowledgeable and friendly crew. I would reccommend this trip to everyone!

It's been on my "bucket list" to see a Blue Whale. Well, luckily for us San Diego whale watch delivered. We saw 3-4 Blue Whales on our excursion (July 3). We got several great views of the whales and they spent a long time following them for us. On the way back we also got to see a pod of 1,000 plus common dolphins. They were amazing! The crew was all very friendly and answered all of our questions. No one in our party was sea sick, but if you are prone to that I would recommend taking Dramamine at least an hour or two before you get on the boat and then another one when you get on the boat. The day we were out wasn't too wavy, but the boat is not huge and you go several miles off shore. I would do this again in a heart beat! Was a great experience and fun day for our whole family (kids age 7, 11, 13 & 15 & 2 adults).

Wonderful Experience! Staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We saw several blue whales and common dolphins (which rode alongside our boat). The staff was great about making sure our group had an awesome experience, while still maintaining an appropriate distance from the whales, as not to harass or disturb them. We could have gone without seeing any whales and I probably would have still had a great time just being out on the water. By the time we headed back to shore my face was hurting from smiling so much lol! I'm from San Diego, and for tourists and locals alike, I cannot recommend them enough!
