Sailed the morning of July 4 and as soon as we were out where the whales are expected to be feeding, they surfaced continually. Spouts, tail flukes, surface feeding throughout the trip. Excellent experience.
At 70-feet, the Privateer is a far smaller ship than the one on which we rode in January. The rocking was substantial at times and everyone in my party eventually fought varying degrees of sea sickness (I doubt my poor sister will even step into a foot spa in the future).
But we had taken a preventative pill and did not suffer to the degree as the poor people who "fed the fishes." I cannot imagine what state we would have been in if we hadn't take anything!
Marine biologists narrate the tour and provide educated observation. The crew is helpful and gave everyone a 50% discount card for anytime in the future. We will opt for the larger vessels, but heartily recommend this group for those who are more sturdy of stomach.
