San Diego Whale Watching Tour

Overview
Our trips depart from Mission Bay, which requires only a short 10 minute journey access to the open ocean where whales and dolphins can be seen! The search for whales and other animals begins as soon as you depart the dock and our marine biologists are on the microphone explaining exactly what to expect and what you are seeing from the get go!
Typically our trips are 2.5-3 hours in length, but time can vary based on seasons and locations of sightings.

Just a really awesome, well-oiled machine this whale watching company is. Highly recommend. Narrated by a well-learned, passionate marine biologist. I was impressed that though she may do this every day how her excitement was still palpable for all to see just as if it was her first day out seeing wildlife. We had a really great expedition out. Although just as it is with nature seeing this is wildlife so you’re never sure what you’re gonna get, but we were fortunate enough to have an amazing sighting experience. Gray whales & schools of dolphins were literally surrounding our vessel - amazing & delighting all of us onlookers with their acrobatics & super fun behaviors. I was impressed with the way our guides approached the sea life. With much respect and dignity. Always giving them the needed space. I learned so much this day & it was a highlight of my San Diego Trip. January & February being the biggest chances of seeing the gray whales so if your holiday schedule happens especially during these months, do not miss! (December to April is when the gray whales migrate down through from Alaska to Baja, Mexico) Worth every penny. Especially nice if you can find a really great deal on Groupon. So don’t forget to check this. Bottom line. Do it. See these great creatures in their natural habitat & how they really do life. Skip SeaWorld. That’s inhuman.

My wife and I have been whale watching before so we had an idea of what to expect. The crew were great, very friendly and knowledgeable. We went during the week in the morning so lots of space on the nice boat. Immediately saw wildlife and were never let down with the amount and variety we saw. You also get a great view of the coastline and we went down to the Sunset Cliffs and back. If you are on the fence about doing it, do it. You won’t regret it.
