We did the zoo and safari 2 day pass. We loved the zoo! We got there kinda early and did the bus right away. It was a great way to see some animals and get information about the park and the animals. We saw lots of animals getting the morning food. Then we took the gondola to the top and walked down. I felt like this saved us some walking. Some of the paths have great shade. Since we did the 2 day it was worth getting the bucket of popcorn and the bigger refill drinks so we could use at both parks. We had a fabulous day here. We took a day off at the beach in between the 2 zoo visits and so glad we did. It was a lot of walking at both parks.

Seeing the San Diego zoo is something I've always wanted to do. We did the 2 day 2 park pass - it's a good discount from paying for each park individually - even with a AAA discount. We did the safari park first and did the tram ride - highly recommended. There are volunteers stationed throughout the park to help guide you through and they're very helpful. The park maps leave alot to be desired - even some of the volunteers/employees said so. If the maps were better to understand, I would have given a 5. Also, be prepared to spend alot on food. One soda (about the size of a McD's medium) cost over $7. We did the zoo the next day. Again - the maps can be hard to follow. Didn't take the bus or the sky ride - we walked the whole thing. Lots of interesting animals but since it was unseasonably warm when we went, many of them were hiding in a shady spot. Although it was interesting to see a huge gorilla playing with a cell phone. I'm glad to say I was there, but I don't feel the need to do it again.
