The African Safari area was amazing with the mix of so many different type animals. The Platypus was a rare sight. Tram was not functional. LOTS of walking. Didn’t see any tigers, cheetahs. Saw m/f lions- beautiful. Didn’t get to see Gorillas-housed or something. No shows during time we were there 3:30-6pm on Sunday. Saw no monkeys or orangutans. Nice walk. Beautiful Bonzai tree collection. Overall, ESP. for the price. Largely Disappointed.

The ticket said African safari unlimited rides included and that ride is close they only selling rides from $300 to $600 per person I should choose zoo only instead safari. Make sure the ride is open before you sell it. To us

This is a complete disappointment and waste of time. It is better to go to San Diego Zoo rather than the Safari. First of all, it mentioned on the highlights that unlimited access to tram rides, animal exhibit, and animal shows are what to be expected. Well, do not expect that because everything is close. The tram is close BUUUT wait, if you pay extra $499 then up to 6 people in your group can enjoy a private tour in the safari. The animals looked dehydrated and malnourished and you can barely see them, except for gorillas and elephants. There is no such thing as animal show but a deserted stage where people can sit and rest from boredom. If that is the case, they better update the info at trip advisor regarding what is clearly included in the trip. Overall, it was a horrible experience and definitely would not recommend this to anyone.
