This is a MUST Do if you are visiting San Francisco. The owner and guide, Cynthia, knows Chinatown like no other person. Her stories and knowledge of the area come first hand from her parents, grandparents and great grandparents. Every corner you turn she recounts the history of buildings, residents, businesses and most importantly the resident Ghosts!

We recently spent a long weekend in San Francisco and on our first evening there went on a walking tour and ghost tour of Chinatown. Our hostess was Cynthia Yee. She is a native of Chinatown, very educated and talented, a great storyteller and historical expert of the culture and area. We started out with a wonderful dinner at Far East Cafe. Very authentic. Best Sweet and Sour pork ever! And can you believe this was San Francisco? Our total bill for four was less than 45.00! Following dinner, Cynthia started our ghost tour. It was a really fun and interesting evening where we learned a lot about Chinatown customs and history and visited the location of many ghost sightings, always popping a little firecracker before we continued so that we didn't take any bad spirits home with us. My husband and I had visited Chinatown on our own previously, but didn't find it that interesting, so we were really pleasantly surprised at how much fun we had this time. The hi light of the evening was watching the lion dance being practiced for the upcoming Chinese New Year. I would do this tour over every time as long as it was with Cynthia. It was a fantastic evening!

Cynthia was knowledgeable and friendly. I have walked through Chinatown before, but after this tour, I have a much better sense of the history.
