On our Secret Food Tour: San Francisco, the Mission District, you'll see how immigrants shaped the neighborhood by creating brilliant artwork, beautiful architecture and sharing their fantastic food! Originally home to Irish, German, and Italian immigrants, it is now the epicenter of San Francisco's Latino culture.

The Mission District is full of vibrant murals that offer a visual history lesson featuring themes ranging from cultural heritage to social-political statements. We will take a stroll through the neighborhood to get an up-close experience.

I went on the Mission Food tour with a few friends. It was a really great way to see a part of the city I dont know much about and sample some of the local cuisine. There are over 4500 restaurants in the city - it was great to try some that I would never have tried by myself. David, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable about the area. He showed us local art (the local street art is truly amazing) and told us about the area. He also took us to some local gems where the food was very delicious! We ended our tour with the most spectacular view of the city! I have done many walking food tours in San Francisco. This was my first one in the Mission Area. Its great to do with friends, family or even alone! You always meet interesting people who are also looking for good food, and a fun way to spend a few hours! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

We were a group of locals, but it was great to explore more deeply the cool Mission neighborhood. Great eclectic mix of food, nice leisurely pace to relax at each stop, and terrific mural viewing along the way, and ending at Dolores Park- a must-stop on a sunny SF summer day! We loved our guide David Anthony! Highly recommend for both visitors and locals alike!
