Overview

"Getting there" should be the fun part. Combine the advantages of sailing with the freedom of a kayak. Light-weight beachable craft open up areas that are difficult to access by heavy boats. While large sails and foot pedal drives allow quick travel between places that may be too distant for other human powered craft. Escape the crowds of the few places serviced by the Washington State Ferry System and explore the waters and remote islands of the San Juans.
Camp at remote beaches, cliff side sites, and/or tiny islands. Meals are prepared by your guide(s) with fresh and, as often as possible, locally sourced ingredients.

Each traveler gets their own personal tent, sleeping bag, and air mattress. All activates take place in the open air, as well as the design of the boats naturally forces social distancing (the amas or outriggers, keep people in boats more than 6 feet apart).

The sites were amazing and I can't think of a time when we have had as much fun. Clayton is a great guide! We will be sailing with him again soon. What a great adventure. Thanks Clayton!!!

I hit the jackpot when I found Clayton and Adventure Washington! My trip was exciting, informative, and beyond fun!! Clayton is the best guide, he does a great job of integrating learning, safety, humor, fun and adventure throughout the whole trip. I am an inexperience boater, and Clayton was very aware of when I would start to flag, he was skilled at keeping my spirits up and finding ways to make the trip as super memorable, and enjoyable as possible, even when the going got tough, the wind wasn't cooperating, or the shadow of the sail was in just the wrong place! I didn't think I would ever do half of the things I learned to do while on this tour. Now, not only can I rig a kayak sail boat, and pack it efficiently for overnight camping, I can also sail it independently, and even understand some of the very importing boating rules while out on the water. The fun didn't end when got to land, beach fires at sunset, hot breakfast and coffee in the mornings, and fun games are just icing on the already awesome adventure! I will absolutely book another adventure with Clayton, as soon as I can make it happen!

There is arguably not a more talented, qualified and entertaining guide anywhere! Any trip with Clayton is sure to be an adventure. He is the consummate teacher and instructor with enough experience in the adventure travel world to handle any situation you're bound to come across. Would give 6 stars if possible!
