My friends and I had a mini college roommate reunion and booked the tour for the first day of our trip. It ended up being the highlight of our get together. William was a wonderful guide as we biked through beautiful wine country. He was extremely knowledgeable about growing grapes and wine making. He also made sure we were always comfortable on the bikes, especially when there were hills up ahead. We ended the day with two tastings and a lovely lunch prepared by William. I highly recommend the tour -- a great combination of exercise, touring through beautiful countryside and learning about and tasting wine.

We were visiting our son who attends grad school at UCSB (we are alumni). So our group was myself (a "young" 56 year old mom), my hubby - super fit 57 year old also an avid bike rider, my son (23) and his girlfriend. We did the classic tour and William picked us up from our hotel. Drove us to Los Olives where we got our bikes. Overall I would describe the bike ride - 15 miles as a fun experience. There are a few steeper hills and in some sections we had to ride next to heavy traffic but William made sure everyone was safe and we took breaks throughout the ride. The scenery along the ride is beautiful. So much better than just driving by in a car. The wine tasting was fun. The second wine stop was lovely and the picnic lunch was fabulous. There was a band playing at the vineyard so we were able to sit outside, sipping wine and enjoying the music. It was a perfect way to spend the day. Really enjoyed the ride.Highly recommend this tour.

My wife and I booked this as part of a four day stay in Santa Barbara. William, who runs the business and looked after us for the, day is an excellent host. He picked us up from out hotel on time and drive us out into the Santa Maria Valley, itself an interesting excursion. The bikes are well maintained and the ride through the wine country was paced around us, with regular stops and good information about the region and the local wine producers. We finished with two wine tastings organised by William - one in a tasting room in Los Olivos and a second at one of the vineyards, where William also made us an excellent picnic. We also tasted some olive oils from a local producer. The trip is very much a combination of cycling, wine and conversation. If you’re a hardened cyclist wanting a serious workout it’s probably not for you and the same is true if you are not reasonably confident on a bike. Our ride was about 15 miles and was just right for us - shorter and longer versions of the tour are available.
