Super guide and interesting locations. Not your average southern cuisine. Enjoyed a personal and local touch.

A group of friends went to Savannah to see the Christmas Market at Plant River District, go shopping, and sightseeing. One of our events was the Culinary & Cultural Walking Tour, which turned out to be a dud. Our guide, John, was very pleasant, but the food and stops weren't much. Who pays $66 to sit out on River St. eating a lukewarm pimento cheese & fried green tomato biscuit??? And, that was better than the slimy lukewarm she crab soup with trout eggs mixed in at Rhett restaurant, or the other stops. When our group asked if there was a dessert stop, and John replied "Yes, it's our last stop" we hung on for dear hope. It turned out to be a stop to taste honey samples at Savannah Bee Company. That is NOT dessert! C'mon - where is the chocolate, or pecan pie or pralines or cobbler or SOMETHING resembling dessert? Of all the things we did, this is the one thing we all agreed we would not repeat.

Thank you for your anonymous feedback. We, of course, regret that you did not have a 5-star experience like the other 20,000+ people this year did, but we will look into why the food fell short on your specific tour and why you felt a selection of honey, honeycomb and cheese, and a cookie didn't suffice as a dessert. Thanks again.

First of all, our tour guide Sally Kirk was excellent!! Not only was she friendly and funny, she knew her Savannah history and it was evident that she loves where she lives! The stops were great. The pimento cheese/fried green tomato biscuit - divine. Shrimp and grits - fantastic! The only thing I may change is the sausage offering. That was not a hit. Sally did say that if we came back in a few months the food offerings may be different - so maybe we will return? Thank you Sally for a wonderful afternoon!
