After a wrong stop, we did find the right location for this tour finally. Be aware there are a LOT of tour companies in one small area!
Our guide, Stephanie was good for the land touring portion, and we truly appreciated the open top van as the 2 people in front of us stunk with cigarette smoke. They were also the ones that arrived 10 minutes late AND came back to the van late from the one and only stop we made. Not the companies fault, but these 2 delays prevented anyone on the tour from getting a little lunch at the many fun places on River street before boarding the river cruise. (No hour and a half gap as promoted) If your policy is arrive on time or be left behind, you need to stick to it! The tour itself was informative and a quick overview of all the squares and historic buildings.
We did not like the "drop and run" end portion of the tour. Several of us wandered up and down River street trying to find the right 'blue awning' we were told to go to register for the riverboat. This needs to be rethought out by Gray Line. Along that line, a better system needs to be put in place for returning to the visitor center. I KNOW we were told about the DOT system, but there weren't enough maps for us all, and, I'm sorry, but all this information being verbally conveyed in a rushed manner as we were stopped at the river drop off point made it a bit stressful. Perhaps a nice handout would help ease the confusion? (It wasn't just us)
The Riverboat was just okay. I had thought there would be much more history information instead of the shipping industry spiel we heard. I would not recommend this for any families with small children - they'll be bored after 15 minutes. I will say, though, that the food available was reasonably priced and large portions.
All in all, I don't think this was a good value for what we paid. I wish
now that we had done the hop-on hop-off trolly instead.

Hi, there. Thank you for taking the time to write such a thoughtful review. We're not wild about smoky smelling passengers, either. We appreciate your suggestions about maps and we'll pass them on to management. We hope you enjoyed Savannah in the spring time :)
