While my husband attended a conference I booked this combo tour thinking it would be a fun day out. The bus portion was fine- my guide "Julie" was very nice and knew a lot about the different neighborhoods we passed through. I was the only person on the tour. I did start to feel uncomfortable with the little, narrow seats on the van and the twisting, turning and bumping over old streets all the while trying to take in the views of the old homes and snap a few photos. LOVED the historic train station where the tour starts and was disappointed to only receive ten minutes there. I would recommend making your own way to the train station and getting on the van there. You are dropped off on the riverfront for approximately 1-1 1/2 hours after your neighborhood tour and before getting on the fake paddle wheeler "Georgia Queen"- I highly recommend doing some research and finding a restaurant NOT on the riverfront- and definitely steer clear of the Greek place!! 16$ for a mediocre gyros and really bad fries...) As far as the river cruise goes if you feel like spending 30$ for nothing but a short ride up and down a VERY stinky river (paper plant, wood chip refinery & loading, and other industrial, I mean the smell is nauseating!! ) with lackluster narration (and I'm being kind here,...) then by all means. Very little history was given and I guess that's what I was expecting. If you've done New Orleans savor that fabulous river cruise experience and take a hard PASS on this one! Sure wish I had!

Hi, Katherine. We're sorry you were disappointed in the tour. We try to give folks a heads up that there's a gap between the land and river tours but sometimes people are frustrated by that. We'll pass your comments on to management and appreciate your feedback. We're delighted you learned a lot with Julie and admired the train station -- it's a gem!
