Visiting Savannah during the summer is a challenge and this tour is a good way to beat the heat. The van picked me up at my Hotel. It has a plexiglass roof allowing a 360 degree view of all the sights. All the views of an open carriage but with air conditioning! Our guide Dennis was fantastic, I learned several new things about the city that I hadn’t heard in past tours plus his personality made the tour a delightful experience. Dennis was also helpful with giving those of us on the ship portion of the trip information about how to get checked in and showing us where there is an elevator to take us to street level when the tour is over. He’s a gem! The river boat tour was also fun. I had seen several large container ship go up the river from my hotel room and the Captain gave us lots of information about shipping in Savannah, the river in general, and the history of the industry in Savannah. The highlight was a cannon firing at Fort Jackson. It was a very hot day but cold drinks were available from the snack bar and there was an air conditioned area, however, the best view are to be had up top so brave the heat and enjoy!

We like to take these types of tours when we arrive in the city because it is a great way to find hidden gems to visit that you just don't see searching on the web. This is one of the better tours. We were picked up on time and taking the bus around town was relaxing and informative and gave great background for our later walks through the city. Th boat tour was relaxing, and a great way to see the city. It was a long day, and the hummus platter was a welcome snack and worth the $10 price. It was hard to hear the narration on the speakers below deck. There was way too much time between the driving part and boat part of the tour and the instructions for transferring to the boat and what to do were not existent, but otherwise I would recommend this for anyone visiting Savannah for the first time.

Hi! We didn't know you could get hummus on the boat -- awesome! Thank you for taking the time to write such a thoughtful review. We're glad you found the land tour a solid foundation for learning about Savannah. We'll pass your comments on the land to sea transfer to management. We definitely don't want people to feel confused. We're glad you enjoyed Savannah and hope you visit again!
